ABOUT US

Started in 1982, the Skeena Valley Farmers Market has grown over the years. Our market now features more than 70 vendors and is the destination for wonderful foods, delicious sweets, baked goodies, produce and meats and canned goods that will last you through the winter.

The Skeena Valley Farmers Market, located in Terrace B.C., is one of the largest in the north – take your time to see everything we have to offer!

The Skeena Valley Farmers Market is more than just a place to buy food, it's a community gathering place where people can shop, eat, socialize and enjoy live music.

Our Board

Our board of directors work hard to support our local food systems.

The Skeena Valley Farmers Market Association is comprised of a hardworking volunteer board of governors who are passionate about creating sustainable food systems.

Our board members are all passionate about promoting the values of our organization.  Many of our directors are farmers or vendors themselves – each who care deeply about making the market a success.

We are so proud of the vendors and volunteers that contribute to making the Skeena Valley Farmers Market the inclusive, welcoming environment that it is.

You are welcome to attend our general meetings.

We have an Annual General Meeting on the second Wednesday in April that is currently open to the public. We encourage people to attend our AGM to hear about upcoming plans for each operating year. This is also when our board of director elections take place.

The 2024 AGM will take place at the Happy Gang Center on April 10th. Doors open at 7.15pm with the meeting starting at 7.30pm.

Accessibility

We're proud to say that the market is accessible for all people. Located on ground level, the market is accessible to wheelchairs, scooters and folks with mobility challenges. There is a ramp that connects the market area with the food court and music stage for added accessibility.

Inclusivity

We are a welcoming and inclusive space. As you walk across the rainbow crosswalk that connects Terrace’s downtown to Market Street, it’s a symbol that we are a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone regardless of gender expression or sexuality.

 Sustainability

At the Skeena Valley Farmers Market, sustainability is important to us. We do not use single use products and encourage our vendors to use only compostable take away containers where possible and do not allow plastic straws. We aim to source our food locally to promote regional food security.

Come to the market on foot or by bike - there are racks at either end of the market, as well as a locking bike shelter
